Today it’s worldwide shoes day! No, I’m joking, it’s not. Do a shoes day exist? Because according to my Instagram feed, there’s a national or worldwide day dedicated to something almost every day!
If you regularly read this blog, but also if you read it once in a while, you certainly know I love shoes. Of course I do! Who doesn’t?
So, to celebrate the true best friends of every woman, I decided to collect some quotes about shoes. There are some very famous ones which I find nice but… Come on, “give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world” is a catchy phrase but it’s nonsense (to say it in a classy way). Conquering the world, or just one’s own destiny (which is better), is not matter of shoes, even if beautiful ones will make us look better while we do it.
So, I chose some quotes that I find true and practical and that maybe are not so famous and, hopefully, not overworked on every existing social network!
I thought that some beautiful shoes would have gone well with the quotes, because writing about shoes without showing some beautiful ones, that would be nonsense!
These are some of my favorite shoes quotes and some beautiful shoes for next fall and winter. Because, as an anonymous and very famous quotes says:
Shoes make me happy. I’m superficial. Whatever.
I think this is somewhat true. Making a nice comment about someone else’s shoes is a good way to break the ice and you probably know another very famous shoes quote that says “I make shoe contact before eye contact”.
This is so true. You can’t look good if you hair looks bad and you’re wearing ugly shoes (and, I add, bad make-up). And you can’t look good if you don’t smell good.
We all know that this is true. As we all know how disappointing is to enter a store, ask for a pair of shoes we saw in the window and being told “we don’t have your size” or trying them on and realizing they’re as beautiful as uncomfortable.
Absolutely. Mr Louboutin, of course, knows best.
Craziness in shoes… I love it!
As another very famous shoes quote says “Cinderella is proof that a new pair of shoes can change your life”.
This is so true. I will never understand women who pair great dresses with slides and unflattering shoes.
And she can look like a goddess, if she wears shoes like these, inspired by the Nike of Samothrace, a sculpture of the Greek winged goddess of victory displayed at Louvre museum of Paris.
I know that Imelda Marcos is the widow of one of the most infamous dictators of the 20th century but we all know that she’s considered the ultimate shoe-aholic.
Sometimes my shoes love me back, I can feel it. Don’t you? 🙂
Simple outfits with shoes that stand out are often my favorite ones. Less is more, but not when it comes to footwear.
