Since I’m not into the festive atmosphere, I’m not into classic Christmas songs, neither. Oh, but I love “Let It Snow” because… what a song! Most of all Frank Sinatra’s version.
These are my favorite Christmas songs.
LAST CHRISTMAS by WHAM. I love this song since forever and, since I grew up watching MTV, I remember that when I was a child I used to wait for the airing of the video, even if I didn’t understand what the song was about, I was too young (and of course I didn’t speak English, yet). Now that Eighties’ fashion is back, the way George Michael, Andrew Ridgeley and all the people in the video are dressed don’t even seem so embarrassing.
DON’T SHOOT ME SANTA by THE KILLERS. I love The Killers and Brandon Flowers (what a man!) and this is a very atypical Christmas song. For those who are not Christmas enthusiasts.
ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU by MARIAH CAREY. I always enjoy watching this video, Mariah Carey was so natural back then and the dog with the reindeer antlers is so cute. The song is so merry that it easily puts me in a good mood.
SOMETHIN’ STUPID by ROBBIE WILLIAMS and NICOLE KIDMAN. This is not a Christmas song but the video is set during Christmas holidays. Williams and Kidman both look great and stylish. I love her short sleeved sparkling sweater (I once read it’s Chanel but I don’t know if it’s true) but all her wardrobe is fantastic. He’s one of the few human beings that can pull off an intarsia reindeer sweater. The song is a cover of a Carson and Gaile’s song, made famous by Frank and Nancy Sinatra who sang it in 1967.
