I like to think about me as a neat person and when I tend to neglect myself, I know that’s a very bad sign. It means that I’m sad and unmotivated.
I’ve always loved fashion.
This love has had its ups and downs but it has always accompanied me during my life. Many people didn’t understand it. Some thought my love for fashion was superficial, my parents didn’t approve. There are people that (still!) think that being interested in fashion, make-up and beauty products make you superficial, even shallow and unprofessional.
Some people think that being sloppy and not particularly clean make them deep and focused on what really matters in life. They’re wrong.
Being sloppy and dirty only make them not particularly pleasing to deal with. That’s all.
So, I totally agree with Tom Ford’s words. And as Earl of Chesterfield (whose words inspired me to name my blog We Believe in Style) wrote in XVIII century “a well-dressed thought, like a well-dressed man, appears to great advantage”.
