Hair tied with a ribbon is officially a thing but it’s always been a very feminine, graceful and easy way to style the hair.
Fashion often seems to be trying to reinvent the wheel. Sometimes, when I read about new supposed trends and incredibly stylish hacks, like wearing a sweater tied around the shoulders, I can’t help but thinking “WTF?”. I used to tie a sweater around the shoulders (or the waist) since I was a child! It’s practical and it’s the best way to keep your shoulders and your throat warm when it’s windy or the weather is chill.
Anyway, when Tory Burch presented her (beautiful) fall/winter 2017 collection, back in February, the hair of the models, simply and elegantly tied with a velvet ribbon, didn’t go unnoticed. And magazines and fashion sites immediately started to write about this must-try hair “trend”.
Even if hairstylist Sam McKnight did something veeery similar for Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini F/W 2016.
This type of hairstyle is perfect from day to night. It can elevate a simple, casual outfit (I don’t know about you but I love jeans+tee+chic accessories) and also be the perfect hairstyle for an elegant evening look. Ribbons always add a touch of femininity and elegance, I’ve always liked satin and velvet ones.
