I loved this Katerina Makriyianni ring at first sight! I love evil eye jewelry and I love lapis lazuli. The bright and intense blue of this stone is so beautiful, it reminds of the deep blue sea.
Lapis lazuli is a semi-precious stone and it’s always been used, since the ancient times. Egyptians loved it and used it to make jewelry and talismans. People who believe in the healing properties of stones think lapis lazuli has many benefits and properties, like the capability of increasing creativity and easing headache and anxiety. I don’t know if it’s true, but it’s a beautiful stone, that’s enough!
Katerina Makriyianni is a Greek jewelry designer and she takes inspiration from the nature of her beautiful home country so I’m sure the beautiful sea of Greece is a source of inspiration for her. She grew up surrounded by art and creativity since her parents are jewelry designers, too, and she improved her skills in Florence.
While I usually don’t like good-luck charms and symbols (every time somebody gifted me with them, they brought me bad luck) I’ve always had a thing for eye-shaped jewelry and eye prints so I love this sterling silver gold-plated ring.
I’d really like to add a lapis lazuli piece to my jewelry collection and this ring by Katerina Makriyianni seems to be a perfect choice.
