As a big lover of feminine shirts, Maggie Marilyn’s Coco ruffled shirt immediately caught my eyes. I love the ruffled collar even if it’s the back of the shirt that is even more remarkable.
Maggie Marilyn is definitely a brand to watch. It’s another stylish proof that fashion can be sustainable without losing a grain of luxury and glamour. Based in New Zealand and recently launched in the “fashionsphere”, Maggie Marilyn aims to create clothes for “living beautifully” without losing sight of something very important. Living beautifully and dressing well can be ethical. Fashion and values can coexist.
Many people think that ethical fashion is ugly, that it’s only for people who don’t actually like fashion. That the condition of people who make our clothes and accessories and the impact that fashion has on the environment is just an inevitable byproduct. Many people also think that they can’t drastically change their way of living and dressing while we can all make a difference just taking a step at the time. In the right direction.
But let’s go back to Coco shirt. I love the raw-edged ruffled collar and the black ribbon knotted on the back. The shirt is made of cotton and linen while the collar is made of silk. I find it so feminine! It would look great under a tuxedo jacket or a velvet blazer.
